Harefield Opticians was the dream and is now the exciting reality for local optometrists David and Elizabeth Baddeley.
We founded the practice in 2007 with the aim of providing quality eye care to Harefield, Ruislip,Uxbridge,Northwood and surrounds. We had become disillusioned at running a busy, less personal practice in Ruislip where we could not spend the time we felt was required to really look after each person fully.
It’s hard to believe that we’ve crossed the decade mark during which time the practice has matured and grown. Our community focus has created a sense of real loyalty. Many of our clients, having experienced our care and professionalism, go on to recommend us with unwavering confidence to others (either by word of mouth or rave review).
We are both Ophthalmic Opticians (Optometrists) and our combined 60 years of professional service and expertise has kept us in good stead with a growing client base not only from Harefield but from throughout the country.
David transferred from the University of Cape Town to study Optometry at Aston University in Birmingham at the age of 20. Following graduation in 1984 he worked for a number of opticians in North London before opening his own practice in Ruislip in 1990. He decided to move on from that practice in 2007 to create Harefield Opticians with Elizabeth.
In 2005 David increased his clinical skills by achieving his Diploma in Ophthalmology.
David has been involved in raising funds for the charities Guide Dogs for the Blind (cycling across Cuba) and Vision Aid Overseas (working at an eye camp in India).
Elizabeth graduated from the City University in London in 1985. Following graduation she worked in private practice in St Albans before leaving to start the family (two lovely daughters with David) in 1992. She worked at their previous practice in Ruislip on a part-time basis from 1994 until she started Harefield Opticians with David in 2007.
Elizabeth enjoys helping you choose the best frame and lenses to ensure a successful dispense. She also likes to advise you on contact lenses and other clinical matters like refractive eye surgery.
